clinging

If you cling to your life,

you will lose it;

but if you give it up for me,

you will find it.

Matthew 10:39 (NLT, 1st ed.)

 I read Matthew 10:39 just now.

It's a verse that has been rattling about in my spirit since 2008.

God has used it to poke me in the eye, or to kick my butt.

I what He continues to whisper to me when using it is "don't cling to your life".

And by not clinging to my life, He has taken me places in the last 12 years that I never would have imagined I'd ever go.

I've been clueless for 10 of those years as to what this life of mine means these days.

But all I know is that life is better spent not clinging to our lives.
