favor

Psalm 89:17b Our power is based on Your favor.


Dictionary.com defines "favor" this way...

favor:
1. something done or granted out of goodwill, rather than from justice or for remuneration; a kind of act

2. friendly or well-disposed regard; goodwill
3. the state of being approved or held in regard: to be in favor at court

4. excessive kindness or unfair partiality; preferential treatment
5. a gift bestowed as a token of goodwill, kind regard, love, etc.


It's really easy to think that things happen in our lives because we're pretty good people, or that we're wise, or that we're some sort of "holy" because we hang out a lot around God or His people.


Nope.


It's because God chooses to channel Himself through us.


And if we don't watch ourselves & monitor our hubris & pride, He can choose to not.
