Although this has been a warmer that usual summer up here in NE GA
USA, we haven't had all that many bad rain storms. But we have had some
trees come down during some of our storms - not any more or less than
usual.
I've noticed some things about those trees that have fallen over completely.
Some
may look old & solid, but when they fall over & break, you can
tell that they were completely rotten inside - there was just a big,
black cavity on their insides. So it's no surprise they could not handle
a strong storm.
Others I've notice seem to not have a
very deep root system, so when the strong winds came along, the tree
simply had little to nothing to hold on to to keep them upright.
Some trees are clearly diseased. So their weakened condition has left them susceptible to storms.
And
finally, I've noticed that some trees are blown down because they're
standing all by themselves in a big field with no other trees to protect
them.
I'm sure you can see the parallels from trees being blown down & how each of us handle the "storms" in our lives.
Just a thought...
