any way, or one way

John 3

18 "There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him.

But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God's one and only Son.

19 And the judgment is based on this fact:

God's light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil.

20 All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed.

21 But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants."

This is Jesus talking in John 3.

The previous 17 verses are the talk Jesus had one night with Nicodemus, in which Jesus says we have to be born again.

It's also the conversation that spawned the quote, “For God so loved the world...”

I quote these 4 verses that follow for the simple reason that they poke wholes in the concept that “all roads lead to God”.

iow, if you are Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, Shinto, or whatever, all those religions all lead to “God” - whoever that is.

I run into this thinking frequently. It's been around at least as long as I've been alive. ;-)

I think Jesus may have made some statements here that clearly say otherwise.

He says there will be no judgment if we believe in Him.

And if we don't believe in Him, then we WILL be judged.

I don't think it can get any plainer...
