Romans 1
16 For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ.
It is the power of God at work,
saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.
17 This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight.
This is accomplished from start to finish by faith.
As the Scriptures say,
"It is through faith that a righteous person has life."
I think we forget this.
In a time when things have to be proven,
or substantiated,
or shown beyond a reasonable doubt,
we forget that our whole relationship with God, in the final analysis, is built on one thing...
faith.
We simply have to believe.
As a result, for some, it is the greatest open door,
& for others it is the greatest stumbling block.
Some find connecting with God by simply believing to be an exhilarating & unbelievable opportunity - "you mean, all I have to do is just believe?!"
And some find it completely unbelievable that One so holy, omnipotent, & eternal could accept us just because we believe - "you mean, that's all there is to it?! Never!"
But that's the eternal scandal of God's love for us...
All we have to do is believe.
