love

 John 13

34 "So now I am giving you a new commandment: 

Love each other. 

Just as I have loved you, 

you should love each other. 

35 Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”

This is Jesus talking to His disciples at the Last Supper, the night before He died.

Notice He says people will know we are followers of Jesus if we love others.

not if we judge others...

not if we condemn others...

not if we hold lots of political positions of power...

not if we legislate morality...

not if we display a strong sense of entitlement...

We are to love others...

We've been grossly missing that mark, that mandate, for many, many years now.

And I'm afraid it will take something catastrophic the jolt us back to living that simple reality.
