At the end of Paul's first letter to the followers of Jesus in Corinth, he gave them 5 mandates.
At that time, followers of Jesus were not well thought of,
life in general was dangerous,
& followers were often persecuted or arrested or killed.
In the face of all of that, here's what Paul told them to be & do:
Be on guard.
Stand true to what you believe.
Be courageous.
Be strong.
And everything you do must be done with love.
1 Corinthians 16:13-14
These were not only good words for the Corinthian followers of Jesus,
but are good words for all of us who follow Jesus
in the third decade of the 21st century...
