fruit

Paul is writing to the followers of Jesus in Galatia.

He quantifies what a life looks like when controlled by the Holy Spirit.

Would it then follow that if qualities & traits are displayed that are the exact opposite of what he lists then the Holy Spirit does NOT control our lives.

Look around & "inspect the fruit" of our own selves, as well as people with whom we connect.

I would hazard to say that those who exhibit a lot of these traits seldom trumpet their connection with the Holy Spirit.

And probably those who assert the most strongly their "hooked at the hip" hotline to God when scrutinized closely don't show out in many, if any, of these traits.

Just a thought...

When the Holy Spirit controls our lives, He will produce this kind of fruit in us:

love,

joy,

peace,

patience,

kindness,

goodness,

faithfulness,

gentleness,

& self-control.

Galatians 5:22-23a
