trust

Don't be afraid. Just trust me.
Mark 5:36 (NLT, 1st ed.)

This is what Jesus said to Jairus right after Jairus' servants came to tell Jairus that his daughter had already died.

Of course we know the end of the story, so we often think Jairus was pretty lame for not trusting Jesus in what seemed an impossible place.

But how often are we like Jairus?

If we're in an impossible place, how many of us don't trust that He'll come through?

Notice I said "we"?

My trust quotient is pretty low these days, so don't think I'm pointing a finger just at you.

Just remember that when we point a finger at someone, there are 3 fingers pointing back at us.

And that is certainly the case with me.

We can be judgmental of Jairus because we know the end of the story.

But when we face down our own impossible situations where we don't know what's going to eventually happen, it is much easier simply not trust God that He will work it all out, somehow.

But that is the litmus test for all of us, isn't it - to trust Him in our impossible places?

That shows what we REALLY think about God & His ability & willingness to take care of us.
