I'm always curious about why some verses come up off the page when I read. I wonder where I'll need these verses. And I wonder who of you might need them too.

Proverbs 25:15b ...soft speech can crush strong opposition.

And who has the patience & maturity to do such?

Proverbs 25: 21 If your enemies are hungry, give them food to eat. If they are thirsty, give them water to drink. 22 You will heap burning coals on their heads, & the Lord will reward you.

Yeah, & how many of us have ever done this one?!

Matthew 20:26b Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first must become your slave.

Anyone who says "All I want is to be a servant of the Lord" has never been one.
