Luke 15:1 Tax collectors and other notorious sinners often came to listen to Jesus teach.
2 This
made the Pharisees and teachers of religious law complain that he was
associating with such sinful people...
...even eating with them!
So, Jesus hung out with "notorious sinners"?
Things were pretty rank back then (as they are now).
Makes ya wonder what ya had to be & do back then to be a "notorious sinner" !
Anyway, Jesus would hang out with them.
Evening
eating with them - iow, this was a complete connection that He had with
them. They trusted Him enough to eat with Him, & be seen in public
doing so.
hmmmm...
So, we're supposed to be like Jesus...
How many of us hang out with "notorious sinners"...
...to the point that our super holy friends, acquaintances, & authenticators get all wound around the axle about it?
Iow, how many of us do for others what was done for us, resulting in us becoming Christ followers?
And
where would you & I be if those Christ followers who hung out with
us when we were not Christ followers had the same attitude of
"reputation protecting" you & I sometimes have about building strong
relationships with "notorious sinners"?
Yeah, we'd still be goin' slam to hell.
hmmmmmmm...
