stuff I think about after reading the Bible EVERY DAY very early in the morning

a couple of things
I usually write only 1 blog a day, but I needed to publish the last third of The Sermon on the Mount, plus I got some other stuff to say about what I read this a.m....
Lynn & I are making some tough decisions about some stuff right now. I feel like God used Matt 7:7 & 8 to encourage me as we walked through these decisions. He just seemed to say, "Keep on..." when I didn't much feel like keeping on.I was more like ready to quit.
Anybody else ever feel like that? Then vs 7 & 8 are for you, too. Take heart. Keep on.
Matthew 7
7 "Keep on asking,
and you will receive what you ask for.
Keep on seeking,
and you will find.
Keep on knocking,
and the door will be opened to you.
8 For everyone who asks, receives.
Everyone who seeks, finds.
And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
And here's a stinger to vs 7 - it's kind of a gentle "hello!" in regards to our concept of God...
Matthew 7
9 "You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead?
10 Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake?
Of course not!
11 So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.
duh...
********
And I read this verse in Ephesians this morning. I needed to remember the infinitely more part...
infinitely more than we would DARE to ask or hope.
I'm a little short on hope these days. And I don't ask for much anymore, either.
Maybe I should ask & hope more?
By His mighty power at work within us, God is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would dare to ask or hope. Ephesians 3:20
