for you have been called by God. (NLT)

...live a life worthy of the calling you have received. (NIV)

...live the way God’s people should live,

because He chose you to be His. (ETRV)

...I want you to get out there and walk...

        ...better yet, run!

...on the road God called you to travel.

I don’t want any of you sitting around on your hands.

I don’t want anyone strolling off,

down some path that goes nowhere.(The Message)

Paul to the church in Ephesus in Ephesians 4:3oa

Do not bring sorrow to God's Holy Spirit by the way you live.

Remember He is the One Who has identified you as His own.

guaranteeing  that you will be saved on the day of redemption. (NLT, 1st ed.)

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God,

with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. (NIV)

And don’t make the Holy Spirit sad.

God gave you his Spirit as proof that you belong to him

and that he will keep you safe until the day he makes you free. (ETRV)

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God [do not offend or vex or sadden Him],

by Whom you were sealed (marked, branded as God’s own, secured)

for the day of redemption (of final deliverance through Christ from evil and the consequences of sin). (Amplified)

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God,

by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. (ESV)

It’s time to stop bringing grief to God’s Holy Spirit;

you have been sealed with the Spirit,

marked as His own for the day of rescue. (The Voice)

Don’t grieve God.

Don’t break his heart.

His Holy Spirit,

     moving and breathing in you,

is the most intimate part of your life,

     making you fit for Himself.

Don’t take such a gift for granted. (The Message)
