If
anyone has been around church very much, we've heard sermons on these
2 verses,
or
someone will glibly quote it for any number of reasons.
But
the crux of these 2 verses comes down to 1 word...
...trust.
The
longer I live, & the more I see, the more I believe that
following Jesus is all about trust.
We
either trust Him, or we don't.
Each
of these translations or paraphrases expresses the basic thought but
each ones says it a little differently.
It's
like turning a diamond, reflecting the light in different ways as we
turn it.
Also,
it depends on which words we emphasize in each reference.
But
the paramount truth of these 2 verses remains the same, no matter how
it expressed...
...it's
all about trust.
Proverbs

all your ways submit to him,
and
he will make your paths straight. (NIV)
