Mark 12
28 One
of the teachers of religious law was standing there listening to the
debate.
He realized that Jesus had answered
well,
so he asked,
"Of all the commandments,
which is the most important?"
29 Jesus
replied,
"The most important
commandment is this:
'Listen, O Israel! The LORD
our God is the one and only LORD.
30 And
you must love the LORD your God with all your heart,
all your soul,
all your mind,
and all your strength.'
31 The
second is equally important:
'Love your neighbor as
yourself.'
No other commandment is greater
than these."
Jesus boils it all down here.
Jesus tells people, basically, how the
whole thing operates,
what God finds as the most
important elements of our existence.
Love God.
Love others.
Now, if you've read my blogs very
much, you know I always or almost always mention these passages when
they come up in my sequential reading.
You may wonder why I repeatedly
mention it.
Have you implemented the singularity
of Jesus highest mandate: “Love God. Love others.”?
I know I haven't.
Jesus makes it simple for His simple
creation.
No favorite do's & don't.
No leanings toward or away from any
kind of classification we can put on our fellow humans.
No judging.
No condemning anyone.
No nothing.
Just 2 things...
2 sentences.
4 words.
Love God. Love others.
4 words = 2 greatest commandments.
Amazing.
