Matthew
22
34 But
when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees with his
reply, they met together to question him again.
35 One
of them, an expert in religious law, tried to trap him with this
question:
36 "Teacher,
which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?"
37 Jesus
replied,
"'You
must love the LORD your God with all your heart,
all
your soul,
and
all your mind.'
38 This
is the first and greatest commandment.
39 A
second is equally important:
'Love
your neighbor as yourself.'
40 The
entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two
commandments."
I've
said it before in this blog – it bears saying again...
Jesus
summed up the who shebang in 4 words...
Love
God, love others.
That's
it.
That's
what it's all about.
All
we have to do is love God, & love others.
As
far as Jesus was concerned, that was all to it.
But
we don't get that.
We've
added a few things to that list of 2.
How
is that working out, do ya think?
In
the days ahead, perhaps it would bear remembering those 4 words that
can be boiled down from the question Jesus was asked.
What's
the greatest commandment?
Love
God.
Oh,
& btw, the commandment that's running an uber-close second?
Love
others.
Love
God. Love others.
Yeah...
maybe
we should start another anacronym...
LGLO
Love
God, love others.
LGLO
hmmmmmmm...
LGLO
