2 Corinthians 3:17b Now, the Lord is a Spirit, & where the Spirit of the Lord is, He gives freedom.
A simple little sentence with a powerful punch.
How many of us know someone who isn't free? How many of us aren't free?
What imprisons us?
Addictions
Abuse - from others, from ourselves
Thoughts
Expectations
Fears
Worries (another form of fear?)
Anger (or rage?)
Sorrow
Indifference
Laziness
Ignorance
Oppression
And what does Paul says is endemic to our lives if we allow the Lord into them?
Freedom
Why do we let ourselves be imprisoned by these puny things when the Lord, by His very nature, is the Source of freedom?
There is nothing that binds us that He can't free us from. I've experienced / experience that unbinding, that freeing Spirit in some areas from which I NEVER thought I'd find freedom.
Let's realize the freedom that is ours, & live in it. If the Lord promises freedom, then let's give Him access to those things that imprison us & let Him set us free.
