Galatians 4:4 when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law.
5 God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children.
6 And
because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into
our hearts, prompting us to call out, "Abba, Father."
7 Now you are no longer a slave but God's own child. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir.
"Abba"
is the familiar term from that time for a father, much like we would
call our fathers "papa". There are those who feel it is closer to
"daddy", but for some reason that seems to me to be a little too trivial
a term to use for the God of the universes.
In any event, the important thing to remember is that God wants to operate on the most intimate, familiar level with us.
I know that many of you don't have a good role model when it comes to a father. I understand.
I would suggest this: think of all of the things you would want a father to be - our God is that, and infinitely more.
Maybe
that can help you identify with the kind of Father God wants to be to
you.I seen that kind of reasoning help many, many people connect with God
on that level.
Just a thought...
