what's important

Mark 8

34 Then, calling the crowd to join his disciples, he said,

"If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ambition & ways,

        take up your cross,

        and follow me.

35 If you try to hang on to your life,

        you will lose it.

But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News,

        you will save it.

36 And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?

37 Is anything worth more than your soul?

Reread verses 36 & 37...

In view of what those two verses say, I wonder what Steve Jobs would say to us today, if he could speak to us?

     or Paul Walker?

     or Ruby Dee?

     Casey Kasum?

     Ann B Davis?

     Shirley Temple Black?

     Pete Seeger?

     Nelson Mandella?

     Michael Jackson?

     Heath Ledger?

     Amy Winehouse?

     Saddam Hussein?

     Osama ben Laden?

     Hugo Chavez?

I just wonder what kind of perspective they could give us on what is important in life, & what is just so trivial & unnecessary to even think about or consider.

I wonder what they would say to us, if they could?
