This is from Paul's letter to Titus, whom Paul describes as "my true child in the faith we share."
Something tells me they we close. ;-)
Anyway, Paul has this habit of rocking along in his letters & all of a sudden dropping tremendous truth on the reader.
These few verses from chapter 3 of his letter to Titus are typical of that penchant.
We should read them, absorb the unbelievable truth of them, & carry them with us today...
Titus 3
4"When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love,
5 he saved us,
not because of the righteous things we had done,
but because of his mercy.
He washed away our sins,
giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.
6 He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior.
7 Because of his grace he declared us righteous
and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.
BAM!!!
God saved us,
washed away our sins,
gave us new birth
gave us new life
all made possible through the Holy Spirit,
then poured out the Spirit on us,
declared us righteous (we who used to be so sinful),
& gave us life, that is eternal.
Like I said, Paul can drop infinite truth on us out of nowhere.
Carry that truth with you today.
