forgive

Matthew 18

21 Then Peter came to him and asked,

"Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me?

Seven times?"


  22 "No, not seven times," Jesus replied,

"but seventy times seven!


Definition of “forgive”, according to Dictionary.com:

to grant pardon for or remission of (an offense, debt, etc.);

absolve, to give up all claim on account of;

remit (a debt, obligation, etc.).

to grant pardon to (a person).

to cease to feel resentment against: to forgive one's enemies.

to cancel an indebtedness or liability of: to forgive the interest owed on a loan.

to pardon an offense or an offender.


When we do not forgive, we are the ones who are hurt the most by it.

When we do not forgive, we cease to grow.

When we do not forgive, we get stuck in that place & time the incident occurred.

When we do not forgive, the person who did whatever he or she did continue to victimize us.

When we do not forgive, we die a little more & more each day.


Forgive.

Ask God for the strength & the courage.

Let it go.

Move on.


Sometimes I've forgiven.

Sometimes I haven't.

Life only works when I have.
