covered

Your Heavenly Father already knows all your needs.

If you live for Him

& make the Kingdom of God your primary concern,

He will all give you all you need from day to day.

Matthew 6:32b-33 (NLT)

Jesus is speaking here in that second of Matthew 5, 6 & 7 that has been called The Sermon on the Mount.

Jesus was talking to a rather large crowd that was sitting on a mountainside.

Jesus talks about all kinds of things in those 3 chapters. It is a MAJOR talk by Jesus during which He presents ideas that were revolutionary at the time, & continue to be.

But look at what He says here.

Jesus basically says that God has our back.

In a world where things seem to get worse & worse,
where finances become more & more unstable,

& where we never know when someone may just stand up & start killing people,

Jesus says that God knows about our situation,

& if we follow Him & focus on that following,

He's got us covered.

As we face a VERY precarious future, both short term & long term, Jesus says that God is gonna take care of us.

It probably won't be Club Med, but God's gonna provide for us.

Here's how other translations of these 2 verses express it...

Don’t worry, because your Father in heaven knows that you need all these things.

What you should want most is God’s kingdom and doing what he wants you to do.

Then he will give you all these other things you need. (ERV)

Your Heavenly Father knows that you need them all.

Set your heart on the kingdom and his goodness,

and all these things will come to you as a matter of course. (J B Phillips)

you know both God and how he works.

Steep your life in God-reality,

God-initiative,

God-provisions.

Don’t worry about missing out.

You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. (The Message)

I don't know where you are today.

I know where I am.

I hope that these words of Jesus give you hope to face today.

They do for me.
