This is Jesus, speaking to His disciples, right before He left them & went back to heaven.
I doubt if He was mincing words.
15 And then he told them,
"Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.
16 Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved.
But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned.
17 These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe:
They will cast out demons in my name,
and they will speak in new languages.
18 They will be able to handle snakes with safety,
and if they drink anything poisonous, it won't hurt them.
They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed."
I believe the most important word Jesus said there was “go”.
Most folks think that means as a missionary to deepest darkest Africa.
I believe it means get off your butt & reach out to people & tell them about Jesus...
whether that's at work,
at the gym,
at your friend's house,
in the town one over,
in the state one over,
to a country close by or far away,
to anyone – male, female, white, black, asian, latino, arab, muslim, buddhist, hindu, gay, straight, trans, bi, rich, poor, working poor, middle income, nice, mean, stupid, immature, crazy, kool, nerdy, regular, tall, short, medium, skinny, fat, morbidly obese...
And what about all those signs & wonders things that Jesus said would follow us in verses 17& 18?
What do you make of all that?!
