pure & simple

 2 John

5 I am writing to remind you, dear friends, that we should love one another.

This is not a new commandment, but one we have had from the beginning.

6 Love means doing what God has commanded us,

and he has commanded us to love one another,

just as you heard from the beginning.

I know there can always be my own subjective angst going on here...

but these days I seem to see over & over wherever I read in the Bible that our job as humans is a singular, well focused purpose.

We are to love others well.

There seems to be a shortage of other mandates.

We are to love others.

Pure & simple.

Why can't we get this simple truth?

Why do you imbue our mission here on earth with anything else?
