a song for me &/or you?

Lynn & I went exploring North Carolina H'way 215 yesterday.

Here's a link to Wikipedia's entry about it.

I HIGHLY recommend exploring it, whether in a car or on a motorbike.

The whole time we were out there this song was running around in my head, especially the refrain (chorus).

I'm not completely sure why that happened, but then songs play in my head on a regular basis – it's part of being a musician, I guess.

For some reason, I felt like I should share the song with y'all.

Now, it's a old hymn – one I sang & led many, many times when I was serving in traditional churches.

I doubt if many or any of y'all are very familiar with it.

Whenever I get a song like this stuck in my head for no apparent reason, I just kind of wait because sometimes it precedes something the Lord is going to say to me or guide me to.

It IS interesting that I feel like I'm supposed to share it here. I don't know what that's all about. I just try to follow the leading I believe I'm given.

I've learned thru trial & error (mostly error) to follow that still small voice inside my head.

So here's the song. I don't know what it's supposed to mean for me, or possibly for any or all of y'all.

All I know is all I know...

I'll Go Where You Want me to Go – Mary Brown

Refrain:
I’ll go where You want me to go, dear Lord,
Over mountain, or plain, or sea.
I’ll say what You want me to say, dear Lord.
I’ll be what You want me to be.

1 It may not be on the mountain’s height,
Or over the stormy sea;
It may not be at the battle’s front
My Lord will have need of me.
But if by a still, small voice He calls
To paths I do not know,
I’ll answer, dear Lord, with my hand in Thine,
"I’ll go where You want me to go."

Refrain:
I’ll go where You want me to go, dear Lord,
Over mountain, or plain, or sea.
I’ll say what You want me to say, dear Lord.
I’ll be what You want me to be.

2 Perhaps today there are loving words
Which Jesus would have me speak;
There may be now, in the paths of sin,
Some wand’rer whom I should seek.
O Savior, if Thou wilt be my Guide,
Tho' dark and rugged the way,
My voice shall echo the message sweet,
I’ll say what you want me to say.

Refrain:
I’ll go where You want me to go, dear Lord,
Over mountain, or plain, or sea.
I’ll say what You want me to say, dear Lord.
I’ll be what You want me to be.

3 There’s surely somewhere a lowly place
In earth’s harvest fields so wide
Where I may labor thro' life’s short day
For Jesus, the Crucified;
So, trusting my all to Thy tender care,
And knowing Thou lovest me,
I’ll do Thy will with a heart sincere,
I’ll be what You want me to be.

Refrain:
I’ll go where You want me to go, dear Lord,
Over mountain, or plain, or sea.
I’ll say what You want me to say, dear Lord.
I’ll be what You want me to be.
