sowing / reaping

We live in a time where anything goes.
If it feels good, do it.
     Do your own thing.
There are no absolutes except there are no absolutes.

The apostle, Paul, wrote to the church in Rome something about how we should live our lives.

Remember as you read this that Rome was the capital of an empire & a crossroads of the world, where there were very few rules & lots of wild & crazy behavior - behavior very similar to today.

I look around me & see so many people - Christ followers - who are letting sin, & various sins, control their lives.

I see many of them using their bodies in much of the same way that people who aren't Christ followers use their bodies.

I guess I've lived too long, & seen too much - I know what's going to happen to them, eventually.

We really to reap what we so - maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, or next week, or next month, or next year. But eventually, what we sow into our lives comes to fruition.

Romans 6

12 Do not let sin control the way you live;

do not give in to sinful desires.

13 Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin.

Instead, give yourselves completely to God,

for you were dead, but now you have new life.

So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.

14 Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law.

Instead, you live under the freedom of God's grace.

23 For the wages of sins is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
