In a day when there is much rhetoric about the poor & the working poor,I think this passage (written how many millenia ago?) sheds some light on how we should deal with them.
Psalm 41:1 Oh the joys of those who are kind to the poor.
The Lord rescues them in times of trouble.
2 The Lord protects them & keeps them alive.
He gives them prosperity & rescues them from their enemies.
