take heart

In the world you have tribulation

     and trials


     and distress


     and frustration;

but take heart [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]!

For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]

All of us have bad stuff happen to us.

But Jesus says here He knows that but that He will sustain us through it.

     It won't get the better of us.

And He doesn't say that He'll take care of us in most of it, but there's some stuff that's pretty nasty, so He can't cover us in.

He's gonna sustain us through any & all of it.

Why don't we believe this?

Because if we did believe it, we'd live it, & our lives would show it.



What have we to lose if we just trust Him & believe Him?

Doesn't mean the bad stuff will disappear.

But what it does mean is that we can walk through it w/ more dignity, power, & grace.

Why not just take His hand & believe it, even if what we're dealing with seems scary, daunting, &/or impossible, & just trust Him w/ our lives & the crap we have to deal with?
