When Paul writes his second letter to his "son in the faith", Timothy, he knows he is going to be executed soon.
So these are his "final instructions" to Timothy, someone Paul considered his son.
any of us were writing out last letter to someone who we considered our
child, we would probably be saying as much as we could to that person.
We'd be trying to fill in the caps of what we'd taught those children so far.

The expensive utensils are used for special
and the cheap ones are for everyday use.
you keep yourself pure,
you will be a utensil God can
use for His purpose.
Your life will be clean,
and you will be ready for the Master to
use you for every good work.
from anything that stimulates youthful lusts.
Instead, pursue righteous
Enjoy the companionship of those
who call on the Lord with pure hearts.
