greatness

Think about this verse today as we move through the various areas of our life.

This is Jesus, talking to His disciples.

And think about what it would mean if we put this verse into practice.

Matthew 20:26b-27

Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant,

     and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. (NLT)

Whoever wants to be your leader must be your servant.

     Whoever wants to be first must serve the rest of you like a slave. (ERV)

Whoever would be great among you must be your servant,

     & whoever would be first among you must be your slave. (ESV)

Whoever among you wants to be great must become the servant of you all,

     and if he wants to be first among you he must be your slave. (J.B. Phillips)

Whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;

     & whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant. (KJV)

Whoever wants to be great must become a servant.

     Whoever wants to be first among you must be your slave. (The Message)

whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,

     & whoever wants to be first must be your slave. (NIV)

Whoever wants to become great must first make himself a servant;

     whoever wants to be first must bind himself as a slave. (The Voice)

How should we implement this in how our lives?

What would our individual lives look like if we did?

What would be the practical application(s) of the thinking in these verses?
