Psalm 118:8 it is better to trust the Lord than put confidence in people. It is better to trust the Lord than put confidence in princes. (dan note: whenever I read "princes" I think for us it could mean "don't put our confidence in government officials & politics)
James 4:10 When you bow down before the Lord & admit your dependence on Him, He will lift you up & give you honor.
This may come as a shock, but "God helps those who help themselves" is NOT in the Bible.
Paul said that "His strength is made perfect in my weakness." Who else besides me is holding on to that today? Who else besides me depends on His strength for just about everything?
Who's needs these verses besides me today?
