the plesant land

Psalm 106:24 The people refused to enter the pleasant land, for they wouldn't believe His promise to care for them.

This verse refers to when the Jews refused to enter the promised land the 1st time because they didn't think God would back them up & take care of them as they face the giants who lives there.

So they all wandered in the wilderness of Sinai for 40 years until everyone of them was dead before God allowed them another chance to go into the promised land. Whew!

We think these Jews were crazy for not trusting God to take care of them. But we also know the end of the story - they didn't.

How many times are we just like them? God leads us to be or do something & we just don't think He'll make it happen, so we don't be it or do it.

As Lynn & I begin our next season living near Blairsville, it can be a bit daunting. When people ask me how we're doing, I think the best answer is we're living 1 day at a time, taking things as they come.

This whole Blairsville thing was God's idea. If it's His idea, then He's gotta have a plan. I guess my task is to stay out of the way & not mess things up.

How about you? Are you in the same boat as I am, or the Jews back then? How do you think we should be & live in this situation?

If God is God, & He tells us to be or do something, then it's His business to lead us through it. (I'm preaching this more to me that to you!) We trade in the dream He has for us for the safety of what we're comfortable.

If we're to live the God life, we must trust that "He will care for them" & lead us through it.
